Hall Brands was founded by Susan Hall in September 2013 from her desire to re-invent herself, and from the encouragement of her family and friends to market her coveted baked cheese snacks called Chedz. When Susan, a former program manager for a tech company, became a stay at home mom, she yearned to have the best of both worlds. She wanted to stay at home raising her children while enjoying a challenging part-time career. She did not imagine that the first bags to hit store shelves would fly off so quickly. She could not keep up with the demand. About the Products

We grow a variety of vegetables, but our signature product is the Pole-Grown Cucumber.  In addition to our prized cucumbers, we also grow yellow squash, green beans, zucchini, bell pepper, specialty peppers in 12 different varieties, eggplant, pickles, cabbage, hard squash, sweet corn, and mini-sweet peppers. In recent years, we have expanded our growing and packing abilities to include farming in the Yucatan Peninsula during the winter season and in Tennessee for the summer growing months. By farming in these two locations, in addition to the original farm in Georgia, we are able to supply our customers with product year-round.

In a small community in South Georgia, where farming is a way of life, your neighbor is your next of kin, and the gas station down the road serves as your local grocery store, Kent Hamilton lives and works as a 6th generation farmer.  As is typical for the area, Kent comes from a long line of South Georgian farmers, but he took his farming operation in a different direction in 1987 when he joined with his father, brother, and a friend to start Southern Valley Fruit and Vegetable, Inc. 

In that same year, Kent lost his brother due to a tragic accident on an irrigation pivot system and by 1991 Kent’s father had regrettably succumbed to cancer. A few years later, Wanda Hamilton-Tyler and her son Kent were left as the sole owners of the farming operation. Wanda stepped in to run the business with her son, and over the years, they brought trusted family and community members into the business to continue growing the operation. Since those humble beginnings, Southern Valley has grown into a progressive and innovative growing, packing, and shipping facility while remaining true to its traditional farm roots and family values. 

As we have expanded, we have worked diligently to become more self-sufficient. This includes beginning all of our produce from seed in our greenhouses, generating our own fertilizer, and now experimenting with ways to provide our own stakes for our esteemed Pole-Grown Cucumbers. Not only do we grow the produce in the fields, we also wash and pack the product in our state-of-the-art packing house, and chill it in our high-humidity forced air cooler before shipping the product directly to our customers. We pride ourselves on being a true seed to shelf operation.

We are a woman-owned and family-operated company that operates exactly like that – a family. Since 1987, the company has grown from a four-man farming effort into a recognized and respected business that supplies produce across the East Coast, throughout the United States, and northward to Canada.  We combine old fashioned values and traditions with modern, progressive, and innovative thinking. eb5’s cream base was initially created by Pharmacist Heldfond in the fifties as an odorless, greaseless cream he could use to deliver medications to burn victims. Heldfond was working with local Portland hospitals to create treatments, but it was the nurses who were the most excited about his creams. The nurses saw such a difference in their skin when they applied his medicinal creams to patients that they asked for a non-medicinal cream they could use every day. This was the inspiration for our cream today: Heldfond took his cream base, added the two best ingredients for healthy skin, Vitamin E and Vitamin B5, and called it his “formula e-b5” cream.

Garrigans.com is a third generation, family-owned office supply distributor.  Founder Albert Garrigan began as a Royal Typewriter dealer in 1939. Typewriter inventories were hard to maintain as US resources were directed to WWII efforts, so Al expanded into office supplies. Al’s son Patrick joined the company following his tour of duty in the Korean War. School supplies were a hot ticket due to the post-war baby boom. Happi Tummi immediately soothes a crying, fussy or colicky baby. It contains a blend of herbs that are warmed and wrapped against the baby’s tummy. Happi Tummi was the invention of desperation. Nanette’s first child was born colicky and cried inconsolably. The doctors and pharmacy had no natural remedy for colic which can last for months.

Nanette set out to find a remedy, trying something new every night. One very late night applying a formula that Happi Tummi uses today, Nanette’s daughter suddenly stopped crying, smiled and fell asleep into a deep slumber for 6 hours. First time she had slept for more than 20 minutes or 1 hour.

Nanette later told her pediatrician. He scoffed, “A coincidence.” Providence would have a say when several months later that same doctor called. His grandson was colicky and his recommendations failed. Nanette delivered her recipe and within an hour he called. “You need to market this.”

If you were given an opportunity to impact the lives of many babies, to restore happiness to an otherwise fussy, colicky, crying, inconsolable baby, would you be inspired? Nanette Meneses, the founder, never heard of colic when she sought to become a loving, full time mom.

24 hours after birth, Nanette’s baby was crying continuously and inconsolable. She had colic. Doctors have no explanation or remedy. They advise to endure the months it can last. Nanette would endeavor to relieve her baby of the effects of colic and the result would become the birth of Happi Tummi. Rhonda Pieracci created Lynnvision, Inc. in 2010 after helping her friend with a yard sale.  She went to 3 different retailers looking for pre-made yard sale signs that were brightly colored with arrows on them.
